What Are The 6 Main Causes of Aging
$BlogItemUrl$> |
1. Free radical levels in our body has to be controlled in a small quantity to make them helpful to our body. Excessive free radicals generated by the chemical process-- oxidation, are found to accelerate our aging. As free radicals can get electron from other molecules in our body thereby left that molecule and/or cell damaged. Excess free radicals are more easily created through oxidation by environmental pollutions and radiations. Antioxidants is a group of molecules that can neutralize free radicals thereby is a common component in anti-aging skin care formulas and anti-aging super foods/supplements.
2. Glycation here is a term referring to a type of chemical reaction between amino acids of the protein and aldehydes (such as glucose, sugar, called glycating agents). By cross-linking to one protein, the protien-glycating agent molecular complex can then further cross-link to other functional protein molecule to form a molecule called AGE (advanced glycation end products). AGE is very harmful to our body in that they can crosslink to cells causing cells to produce toxic chemical by-products. In addition, AGE stimulate the production of free radicals which in turn produce more aldehydes thereby forming a vicious cycle that will accelerate your aging. The natural substance discovered so far that is able to neutralize glycating agents is an expensive dipeptide nutrient called carnosine. The effect of glycation is reflected as unsightly wrinkled skin. Glycation is also an underlying cause of age-related catastrophes including the neurologic, vascular, and eye disorders. Glycation is commonly measured by monitoring levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (Hba1c) in our blood.
3. Methylation refers to the chemical reaction whereby molecules containing methyl group can be linked to various constituents of protein, DNA and other molecules. Methylation in our body has to be balanced in order to keep proteins, DNA and other molecules function well. Homocysteine is a byproduct of methionion-protein complex whereby Methionion (an amino acid methylating agent) regulates an important methylation reaction in our body by methylating protein or DNA. When homocysteine is in excess in our body, it is found to accelerate telemore (a structure involved in cell division) destruction and thereby causing or accelerating the aging process. However, methylation of certain part of DNA can actually turn off unnecessary or harmful genes and can block division of abnormal cells thereby stop potential aging caused by these abnormal cells. How does our body balance methylation? There are three groups of molecules in our body regulate to balance methylation. They are vitamin B (B6 and B12), TMG (Tri-Methyl-Glycine, also known as Betaine), and SAMe (S-Adenosyl-Methionine). As we age, Vitamin B's function as a cofactor in methylation reaction tend to become less effective. SAMe is one of the most effective methylating agent in the body formed by binding methionion to ATP (adenosine triphosphate--the well known cellular energy molecule).
4. It is believed that Chronic Inflammation is the cause of many age related damage, because excessive inflammation also produces excessive toxic chemicals which not only eliminate bacteria, but also damage normal body tissues. One example phenomenon of excessive inflammation is excitotoxicity where brain cells get over-excited. Another component in inflammation is TNF (tumor necrosis factor), excess TNF stimulates the degeneration of brain and nerves. Omega-s fish oil has been used for anti-inflammatory purposes, however it only handle one of the many inflammation components. The best known natural calorie restriction mimics resveratrol (an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant) has been used to keep TNF as low as possible
5. DNA degeneration is an aging process in which DNA lose its ability to interact with RNA, the molecule directs the translation and synthesis of protein (the macromolecule perform all the functions in our body). The degeneration can then be passed on to the new cells after DNA replication and cell division and accelerate the aging. Therefore, bio-active DNA repair molecules are an integral part of anti-aging super foods.
6. It has been proposed that aging was partially a result of decreased energy production in the cell's mitochondria. In the presence of reduced mitochondrial function, cells become defective and lack the energy needed to effectively repair mutated or damaged DNA. This theory about the correlation of cell energy depletion and aging have been validated by published scientific studies since its proposal.
One more point that needs to be emphasized is-- the 6 causes of aging are related and can be acted in a synergistic way to accelerate aging. Rather the 6 causes of aging are interrelated. Quite a lot of free radicals can also increase glycation (AGE). To see more detailed picture of Aging Process, visit our anti-aging web site knowledge base section |

Is Dermajuv Useful as Anti Wrinkle Cream?
$BlogItemUrl$> |
Dermajuv is considered as a complete package for rejuvenation which is made up of three individual and different products. Though it is not necessary to use all of them altogether but these components are designed in such a manner that they are needed to be used in a step by step procedure to work effectively. The effectiveness of dermajuv varies from person to person as it depends on person's skin tone.
Normally you get a sheet which helps you to use these three products in a right manner to extract maximum benefits. The three components of dermajuv system are as follows:
* Age Defying Serum * Effect Lifting Serum * Wrinkle Smoothing Cream
The only thing which comes in mind now is it useful as anti wrinkle cream? Everyone knows that there are present lots of wrinkle creams but only a handful can be termed as effective anti wrinkle cream. Dermajuv has many active ingredients of Renovage, Sesaflash, and Matrixyl. All these are known to be useful in wrinkle creams as it has been proved through scientific researches.
Let's analyze each of three components of dermajuv one by one:
1) Age Defying Serum
With age, it is a well known fact that collagen amount in skin decreases. This makes skin to appear thin, resulting in formation of wrinkles and fine lines. This calls for the use of anti wrinkle cream as hardly a few people like wrinkles on their face. This serum helps in increasing the production of collagen as well as fibronectin.
The increased production of collage reduces the appearance of wrinkles, large pores and redness. All of these events help in reducing the aging signs. This serum makes dermajuv an effective anti wrinkle cream.
2) Effect Lifting Serum
Effect Lifting Serum, the second among the three components of dermajuv anti wrinkle cream has Sesaflash and Matrixyl as major ingredients. Both of these are known to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Clinical trials of Effect Lifting Serum was impressive too.
3) Wrinkle Smoothing Cream
It's evident from the name of this component its function. This anti wrinkle cream component helps in eliminating wrinkles. According a market survey, this anti wrinkle cream showed 49% better improvements than its competitors.
Thus, we can say dermajuv components are effective as anti wrinkle cream. |

Anti-Aging Skin Care's Roster of Players
$BlogItemUrl$> |
In a previous article I addressed the factors contributing to the aging of our skin. In this article I want to address the more popular topic of stopping and/or reversing the aging of our skin. Of course there is no such thing as the long sought-never found Fountain-of-Youth, but that doesn't stop the claims of the modern day snake doctors.
There is no lack of products available to treat our skin. Some are "clinically proven" while others that have been around for ages have been proven through repeated use over long periods of time. Among the "clinically proven" we have alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids; probably the best known of the bunch and both used as "peels". Almost all of these products are acids, but I'm not sure that is relevant. Several of these substances act as bleaches to "whiten the skin. Some act as fillers. Some such as Retinol and the vitamins C, E, and K enhance the bodies ability to produce new skin and produce collagen and elastin. All of these work and most are safe except you do need to check the allergy info on any product you use, "clinically proven" or not.
"Clinically proven" excludes some really good stuff. Most everyone has heard of the enzyme CoQ10. The absence of this enzyme is a marker for aging so it makes sense to me to supplement it as we grow older. Collagen is used extensively by those seeking their elusive youth. Estrogen makes the news weekly. DHEA is one I have heard of ,but have found no research that impresses me. There is a lot of hype about green tea, but if it was good for your skin, seems to me all orientals would have great skin since they drink so much of it. Aloe Vera is a plant whose pulp has incredible healing power, especially in the case of burns. Tamanu oil is the South Pacific's answer to Aloe Vera and the Melanesians invented pretty skin. Mexico has a tree that produces a similar product, but I would never attempt to spell it. Coconut oil is a great moisturizer and smells as good as anything out there. Try a little Melanesian skin care and and dream of sandy beaches in exotic places.
I often wonder what the ancient Egyptians did to their dead. Imagine having great skin thousands of years after you're dead and buried. All natural substances for sure. Their living had to look fabulous. |

Skin Care Treatment for Wrinkles
$BlogItemUrl$> |
Wrinkles can be hard to deal with for anybody. Some people start to notice the first signs of aging at a younger age than others, but regardless of when it happens, nobody ever likes them when they show up. Wrinkles can make you look old and tired and for many people they are the defining moment between youth and old age. There has been a lot of research done in order to find a natural wrinkles treatment so that we can banish wrinkles for good.
Symptoms of skin wrinkles during post menopause include, dry, itchy skin, feelings of ants crawling under the skin, lack of elasticity, scaly peelings, poor healing of bruises, scrapes, and surgery. If you experience these symptoms, along with tiredness, and low blood pressure, make sure you see your doctor to have your thyroid checked as well.
The best skin wrinkles treatment is a multi-ingredient product that addresses the various "causes" of the signs of aging. Medical treatments always work best when they look at the cause of the problem, rather than just the symptoms. You might not think of skincare as a medical or health issue, but the skin is the largest organ of the body and it is the skin's health or lack of health that affects your appearance, either positively or negatively. So, below, you will learn about the causes and the "cures" for wrinkling, sagging and all of the signs of aging.
Sunscreen lotion: Always wear sunscreen lotion before going out in the sun. It protects you from the heat rays and keeps your skin unaffected. Wearing sunglasses also helps in the protection of your eyes from harmful UV rays and pollution.
Many anti-wrinkle gels and creams will leave you short on cash and disappointed that your wrinkles are not gone. Some of these creams really do work, though. Creams with the ingredient Cynergy TK have shown time and time again that they can help reduce wrinkles. This ingredient consistently gets reliable and fast results when it is present in anti-aging creams. Check out creams with this ingredient, and you are sure to have good results. Never let a cream disappoint you again.
Another good piece of wrinkle reduction advice is to load up on antioxidants in your anti aging products. These are necessary in order to reverse the effect that free radicals have had on your skin. Free radical damage throughout the body is now being called the number one cause for our bodies breaking down as we age.
Cosmetic surgery is an option for people who can afford it. A procedure called a face lift is usually done where the skin is cut and then stretched to make wrinkles disappear. As with any medical procedure there are risks involved. This may be worth it to you, or it may not.
If you have been using the synthetic products for a long time then this is the time to stop using them and start using the natural skin care for wrinkles. The natural products are natural. This means that your skin will not be harmed in any way when you use them. They are not only safe to use but you will see positive results after a short period of time. Needless to say, your skin is the most important part of your body and you need to make sure that you are protecting it by using the right skin care products. |
